What can Laserlove do for me?

Laserlove is an online-lasercutting-service in Berlin and produces laser-cut parts for you according to your ideas!

Prior to the production of an order, we calculate the total price for lasercuts on the basis of your drawings and the desired material and then ship them quickly to any location in Germany (soon also worldwide).
Your lasercuts will be with you in 1-3 days!

All you have to do is upload a vector drawing and select a material. Laserlove will then show you a price directly.

Laserlove started in August 2017, but we have 10 years of experience with laser cutting and use three laser cutters in our workshop in Berlin.

What is laser cutting?

Laser cutters are a wonderful tool to give shape to ideas quickly and cheaply. You can use it to make signs, jewellery, decorations, models, letters, toys, prototypes and large-scale productions.
Laser cutters cut many different materials with high precision and accurate, fine details.

We make lasercutting simple and inexpensive and the creation of drawings not complicated. You can use different types of free drawing software available for Mac and PC. Send us your designs and we will help you to produce your items so that you can get them home quickly.

What is a vector drawing?

A vector drawing consists of line objects that can be enlarged at will and without loss of quality. The laser cutter cuts along the lines.
Photos, on the other hand, are not vector drawings but raster images; when enlarged, they become blurred and pixelated.
Vector file formats: AI, PDF, EPS & CDR.

What can I draw with? Which software should I use?

Adobe Illustrator, Coreldraw oder Inkscape (free)

There are many instructions on the Internet that explain how to use these programs.

What should the drawing look like?

For laser cutting we need a digital vector drawing of your design.

There are three ways to use the laser cutter and they can be freely combined:

  • Cut lines
RGB red (255,0,0), 0.1 mm line thickness, no fillings. More information
  • Outline engravings
RGB blue (0,0,0,255), 0.1 mm line thickness, no fillings. More information
  • Filled engravings
Always RGB black (0,0,0). Lines of any thickness, texts (in paths) or filled objects. More information

All other colors are ignored.

Cutting: red lines

The laser beam is heat radiation (infrared light) and only 0.1 mm wide. This fine point can cut through up to 15 mm thick material that burns, melts or evaporates.

The laser follows the drawn lines and cuts the material.

The Laserlove software finds and cuts every red line in your drawing, even if it is hidden behind other lines. Double lines are cut twice, which is usually not bad, but more expensive because it takes longer.

Outline Engraving: blue lines

A fine 0.1 mm wide line drawing is scratched into the surface of the material.

Similar to cutting, the laser follows the vector lines, but with less energy it does not go so deep into the material. The width of the line is always 0.1 mm. Ideal for folding lines in paper or cardboard.

Watch out: double lines on top of each other are carved twice and are then twice as deep (and are also calculated twice).

Filled Engraving: black lines, fillings or texts

You can also use the laser cutter to create superficial engravings, such as text or graphics.

The laser moves back and forth like a print head and engraves the drawing line by line. A little material is removed (the engraving is a few 1/10 mm deep).

Wood and cardboard become dark, while plexiglass becomes whitish because the surface is roughened.

How do I save the drawing?

We support AI, PDF, EPS & CDR.

Your drawing will be placed in the upper left corner of the material.
If you don't like it, draw a red frame around your parts and set their position in it.

Materials

Paper, wood, plastics, foam rubber, cardboard and much more (but our machines do not laser metals).
The materials are always flat and the laser cuts vertically.
